William Carvalho has ruled out a deadline day move to Arsenal.
The Portuguese international midfielder has attracted attention from the Premier League for some time with Manchester United another keen on his services.
But despite Sporting apparently dropping their £35.8million asking price to somewhere nearer £23m, the 22-year-old has committed his future to his current club.
"I am under contract with Sporting and I'm a Sporting player," he told A Bola.
"There is no way I can say I am going to leave. I am fine at Sporting."
The Gunners have strengthened significantly this summer with a number of big money additions with Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers all coming in.
But despite a number of incomings Gunners fans made it abundantly clear at Leicester on Sunday that they want more, namely a new centre forward.
However, while rivals Manchester United were working on the blockbuster loan capture of Radamel Falcao, Arsene Wenger was jetting off to Italy to referee a charity match indicating incomings at the Emirates are unlikely.
